Holy Smokes!

So sew busy lately!  No computer :/. Posting from my phone is weird!

So here is the skinny so you don't think I am dead under my sewing table ;-)

I have been working on a quilt for a sweet customer. The pattern is called "modern asterisk" by Main Street Market Design. It is an amazing pattern.

This is Kimberly's original version of her quilt.

I have the large asterisks finished.

I have this many of the small asterisks asembled. All of the small asterisks are all trimmed and prepped for assembly.

The medium asterisks are up after the smells are finished.

Hopefully I will be finished with all of the blocks in the next few weeks.

It is going to be so cute! :-)

Secret Book of Maps

When I first started quilting I called patterns maps.  Mainly because I need diagrams in order to make a quilt :-)

My sweet friend April made me a book of maps a few years ago.

It has graph paper inside :). I love it and use it every day!

I decided that I needed to make one for all of my quilts bffs.

I have a few more to make for other friends. I am loving them :-)

Dave's Scrappy Vomit Quilt Konda Style

We have so many wonderful friends!!

We inherited a piano from my husbands parents this past summer.  It was in need of a tuning.  Our neighbor and good friend offered to tune our piano for a quilt.

He said I could make it out of fabric that I don't like anymore ;D  I instantly remembered the vomit fabric swap we did last year.

I used Konda's pattern to make this beauty ;D I call it ScrappyVomitKondaStyle.

The fabrics are HORRIBLE, but all together looks AWESOME!! :)

I quilted all of his girls names in the quilt.

And his name.

Thank you to Amy who kept bringing me all of the ugly scraps she could find at QuiltBliss ;D  Thanks to her, we have a few extra "special" prints in the quilt.

Nidia's Quilt of Many Colors

My sweet dear friend, Nidia Corzo,{Corzo's Digital Memories}
very graciously took our daughters bridal photographs out of the kindness of her dear heart.

They turned out AH-Mazing!!!!

I had to do something for her as a thank you! ...not enough, I know!

This quilt was an inherited UFO from April over at makingendsmeet.blogspot.com

She had inherited the fabric from Emily Herrick and had made the center several years ago.

I added the borders and quilted and finished it for Nidia.

The wonderful thing about Nidia is that she is the most cheerful and bright loving person I know. The colors reflect her vibrant personality.

I will forever be grateful for her friendship and generosity!

Qbx and Nmqg BOMs February

For February's NMQG bom, Lisa designed a cute little flower applique.

She taught another method, but I prefer back basting needle turn applique.

I worked on these while watching the Olympics.

See my cute little basting stitches.

February's blocks

All of the blocks together :)

Qbx February BOM

The February BOM for QBX was my assignment.

I decided to go with a dresden plate using the easy dresden ruler.

Dresden's are my favorite block :)

I use my curved tweezers to make my points come out nice and pointy ;D

All pinned down and ready to applique in place

I love the hand sewing part :)

Ta-Da!  Isn't she pretty!
