Here a Little Quilting, There a Little Quilting!

Here are a few fun quilts that I have done lately.

The silky fabric above ended up having a great texture after quilting.

This simple loop reminded me of Lavern's "L's" she had on all of her shirts :)

A Quilt of Valor

I signed up to quilt for the Quilts of Valor organization.

This is the first one I have received to quilt.

It was pieced by a sweet lady in Hurricane, Utah.

She did such a beautiful job with her piecing!!

I hope our troops and veterans know how much we love and appreciate them!!

Kindergarten Aprons

A friend of mine asked me if I could make a little apron for using while teaching kindergarten.

I gave it a whirl!

They turned out pretty cute, eh?

Olivia's Butterfly for Eva

You have been seeing a lot of butterflies made by me lately.

This one is for my mother in law, Eva, in memory of Olivia,
her granddaughter, that died this past April.

She, of course, is devastated by Olivia's death.

(Blogged HERE)

When Eva saw the butterfly for my friend for our guild swap, she mentioned how much she loved it and that it reminded her of Olivia.

I just had to make her one too.

The one I made for Olivia's mother is blogged HERE.

Information about the pattern can be found HERE.

Here are some behind the scenes photos ;)

My mother in laws favorite color is purple :)

Olivia's Butterfly

As many of you may remember, my niece, Olivia died this past April.

You can see the post HERE.

At her funeral we all released butterflies.

Olivia loved bright colors!

A few weeks ago was Olivia's mother, Cathy's birthday.

I decided to make Cathy a butterfly, just like the one I made HERE for the
Nebo Modern Quilt Guild Mini Swap.

I really hope she likes it!

I spent a lot of time finding the right thought for the label.

The fabric is Mimosa.

For the quilting I went for whimsical with motion.

I even added Olivia's name into the quilting.

Monica's heart and soul started college a few weeks ago ;)

So, she made him a quilt to snuggle with.

(It's Monica's first quilt!  She did such a great job!)

Katie's Baby Quilt

My friend Brittany have been making quilts together for our neighbors who are having babies.

She pieced this darling baby quilt for our friend Katie's new baby boy.

I quilted and bound and labeled it.

I am so happy with how cute it turned out!

I decided to try an allover peacock fmq for the quilting.

I really like how it turned out!
